Club Mixes
Dan Elliot started his journey as a DJ at Oasis Lounge, the sound bar that he built and operated for 4+ years in Osaka. It was at Oasis Lounge that he honed his DJing skills, found his original sound, and launched himself into the night club scene of Osaka. As Dan's following grew, he was invited to play at some of the biggest and most influential clubs in Osaka at the time, including Saza*e, Joule, Grand Cafe, Onzieme, Lunar Lounge, Seven Lounge, and many other venues and outdoor events in the Kansai Region. Also at this time, he traveled to Thailand every year, to spin at some of the best clubs in Koh Samui.
Dan's club sound started out as a mix of progressive house, electro house, and progressive trance. But, over the years, as global club music trends changed, his club mixes evolved and began to feature more deep house, tech house and progressive techno, along with his signature progressive house sound. What hasn't changed is that whenever Dan plays live at a club, his goal is always to bring the best underground tracks, mix them perfectly, and tell a musical story that gets the dance floor moving. Before becoming a DJ, Dan was a fan of club music, and was on dance floors grooving with everyone else. He never forgot this perspective, and his club sets are always played with one question in mind... "What would I want to hear if I was on the dance floor now?"
In the end, Dan's club mixes tell a story that never fails to provide the perfect combination of sound and vibe that always suits the situation, and gets people moving in the club. Experiencing the musical journey in one of Dan's live sets is something any club goer will never forget.
Bornova, Türkiye
Progressive House
The title “Bornova” is a reference to an area of the city of Izmir, Türkiye where my great friend and one of my DJ mentors - Ayberk (aka I-Bec) – lived. When I visited in 2019, the name “Bornova” had a special ring to it for me, and I decided at the time, to make a mix bearing that name someday. The Bornova mix was born in April 2024, while I prepared to make a second journey to Türkiye. As I knew we would be taking some road trips while I was there, the mix is designed to be listened to while driving on a highway, over long distances, through spaces that traverse mountains and open plateaus. A mix for the beautiful country of Türkiye. Put on some headphones, imagine yourself cruising down a highway through peaked mountains and lateral open vistas with the sounds of “Bornova”.
